Pavement Coatings
Heat Island Effect is the term used to describe the higher temperatures experienced in built-up areas as opposed to surrounding rural areas. This is caused by the concentration of structures such as buildings, roads, and other infrastructure that absorb and re-emit the sun’s heat more than natural landscapes. Daytime temperatures in built-up areas are about 1–4°C higher than temperatures in outlying areas and night-time temperatures are about 1-3°C higher.
By using Solacoat Heat Reflective Pavement Coating on pavements and low speed vehicular travel areas these temperatures can be greatly reduced which will have a direct impact by lowering the ambient temperature in the immediate surroundings. It is also ideal around swimming pools as it is cool on the feet.
