Tanks & Pipework
Temperature control for tanks holding water or other liquids than are heat averse can be effectively controlled by the use of heat reflective coatings. Eliminating the need to build costly shade structures which require both roof and sides to minimize direct sunlight, Solacoat applied to the external surface of the tank is effective in minimizing temperature gain by allowing only a fraction of the heat to penetrate the tank wall. With Total Solar Reflectance of 85% and Emissivity of 88% less than 2% of heat from the sun will reach the external surface of the tank wall.
Similarly, heat mitigation through the external coating of potable water pipes and storage tanks with Solacoat heat reflective painting systems prevents UV damage to pipework and reduces thermal expansion and contraction of pipes.
